This school for girls is located in the Mwingi District in the Eastern Province of Kenya. It was founded in 2005 to provide high school education for poor girls in this remote area of Kenya.
In the early days, Our Kenyan Kids supported the school by building and furnishing a dining hall and providing equipment for the science laboratory.
The success of girls’ education depends on their attendance and many Kenyan young girls miss one week of school each month due to their menstrual cycle. For several years, Our Kenyan Kids provided feminine hygiene products for all the students on a regular basis to ensure their study was not interrupted.
The school is now well established and no longer needs our support.
